NOTE:  The below schedule and descriptions are from the cancelled 2020 rally.  The information for 2021 will be similar and will be updated before registration opens March 1, 2021.


The rally will be at the Grant County Fairgrounds, in the historic western town of 
John Day, Oregon, nestled in the scenic Strawberry Mountains.  Join us for a weekend of terrific riding, seminars, food and fellowship. John Day, Oregon is located at the Junction of Hwys 395 and 26. Enjoy the West’s best riding: gold and cattle country, refreshing mountain passes, painted hills, river canyons, and wide open desert. All this in one day’s riding! Visit the John Day Fossil Beds National Monument or any of four different museums. Begin planning your trip now! Oregon is for Riders! Come to John Day and see what we mean!

Registration Information


Pre-registration includes 3 nights free camping on Thurs, Fri, & Sat nights, Fri & Sat dinner tickets,  and a door prize ticket.  Gate registration does not include meals.  Pre-registration closes June 7th. at 8 pm.     Click Here to go to Registration Page

During pre-registration, you'll be able to add options for vegetarian dinners, the Cowboy Lunch Ride, and Team Oregon classes.  Team Oregon offerings this year includes their popular On-Road Cornering Skills Class and a Braking Skills Class.



After the Chief Joseph Rally, you might want to take a scenic 4 day ride to the 2020 BMW MOA Rally June 25 – 28 in Great Falls, Montana.   Click here for information & to register for the MOA Rally in Great Falls, MT.  Make it an epic road trip!  Which route will you choose to take between John Day, Oregon and Great Falls, Montana?    Will you go up through Glacier National Park and the Going to the Sun Road?  Will you go through Lolo Pass in Idaho?  Perhaps you'll take this opportunity to see some of the roads in the Wallowas & Blue Mountains of NE Oregon.  You may choose to route yourself through the Sawtooths & Bitterroot Mountains in Idaho.  So many great choices and routes.

SINCE THE RALLY IS BEING CANCELLED DUE TO COVID-19, THE T-SHIRT STORE IS CLOSED.  IF YOU ORDERED A RALLY T-SHIRT OR HAT, THE VENDOR WILL BE REFUNDING YOUR MONEY.  

Rally T-shirts & hats are available by pre-order only. In order to have the orders processed and ready for you to pick up at the rally, you will need to place your orders by the May 10th deadline.

Food


Your pre-registration includes dinner tickets for Friday & Saturday.  Gate registration does not include meals.  A limited number of dinner tickets will be available for purchase at the gate:  $15 each.  Restaurants are within several blocks walking distance of the fairgrounds.

DINNERS will be catered by Brenda Coley, owner of the Snafflebit Dinner House in Canyon City.
Friday dinner:  Chicken enchilada casserole. Corn tacos with taco meat, cheese, tomatoes, lettuce. Chips and homemade salsa. Refried beans.  Caesar salad.  Dessert. Coffee and Punch.
Saturday dinner:  Parmesan chicken breasts. Loaded baked potato.  Carrots. Cowboy salad (lettuce, tomato, peas, red onion, carrots, cucumbers, blue cheese crumbles, candied pecans). Ranch or wild raspberry dressing. Rolls. Dessert, coffee and lemonade. 
Vegetarian options will be available for both dinners.

BREAKFAST will be available for purchase in the Pavilion Friday & Saturday mornings from 6 am until the food runs out.  Breakfast is being offered by the Calvary Horse Camp for Urban Foster Girls and benefits this non-profit organization.  Carolyn Stout is head cook.
Friday breakfast:  Pancakes, Eggs, Sausage, Fruit, & Juice.  $9   
Saturday breakfast:  Warm ham, egg, & cheese croissants, Hashbrowns, Applesauce, & Juice. $9
Quinoa Power bowl (your choice of sweet or savory versions) will be available both mornings for $7.

Log Cabin Espresso Stand will be open for your specialty espresso drinks, ice cream, and breakfast and lunch offerings.
1188 Brewery will be running the Iron Horse Saloon with a selection of beers, ciders, and wine.

Accommodations

Camping at the fairgrounds Thursday, Friday, & Saturday nights is included in your registration.  If you plan to arrive early to the fairgrounds on Wednesday, you'll be expected to pay the fairgrounds privately at the camping kiosk for Wed night camping.  ($15/night)

Separate reservations and fees apply for the use of the adjoining RV park.  Contact:
