Ladies and Gentlemen: It‘s another soggy week before our ride. Nonetheless, I remain optimistic that the storms will quell just for us. With that in mind, I‘ve got a good one for you. This month we‘re heading to Cougar. Gateway to Mt. St. Helens and favorite pass-through along many past rides. First order of business: Avoid the relocation and construction confusion that is Cascade Moto‘s current state of being. We‘ll meet at BMW Motorcycles of Vancouver. It will be a leisurely morning: Kickstands up at 10:45am. After making our way east, we will hug the paved eastern edge of Clark County. We‘ll cross the east fork of the Lewis River before touching civilization in Yacolt. Then it‘s back into the woods across Lake Merwin and on to the Lone Fir Resort, where lunch awaits. After lunch we‘ll scoot down WA-503 toward Woodland. Yeah, I know it‘s a main drag. But the well-banked sweepers will make it all worthwhile. At Woodland, you have the option to hop on to I-5 or follow the rest of us back into the hills surrounding La Center. From there‘s it‘s a short ride to I-5/I-205 and home. All told, it‘s about 160 miles start to finish. Gas can be found in Cougar and Woodland, but that‘s it. Make sure you arrive with a full tank. So that‘s the plan for May. I was hoping for glorious sun and ... you know what? I still am! So keep your weather fingers crossed and join us as we make our way north. Questions? Don‘t hesitate to call or ping. I look forward to seeing you Saturday.
